Pre-Application Meeting
A pre-application meeting with City staff shall be required prior to any submittal for review. At the pre-application meeting, applicants will be advised of the details required for the review procedures. It is the responsibility of the applicant to become familiar with the regulations, policies, and procedures of the city. At the meeting, the applicant shall designate one contact person to work with City Staff for the duration of the project.
Pre-application meetings for site plans and plats that need Planning Commission approval shall be held a minimum of three weeks prior to the submittal. Pre-application meetings for all other projects may be held one week prior to submittal. Contact the City Planner to schedule all pre-application meetings.
Powers
The Planning Commission shall be organized and shall carry out its powers, functions, and duties in accordance with Title 13 of the Tennessee Code Annotated.
The Planning Commission has the authority to approve:
- Concept Plans
- Preliminary Plats
- Final Plats
- Site Plans
- Amendments to the Subdivision Regulations
- Gates
The Planning Commission serves as an advisor and makes recommendations to the Board of Mayor and Aldermen on:
- Annexations
- Rezoning
- Right-of-Way Abandonments
- Amendments to the Zoning Ordinance
- Dedications of Streets and Utilities
