Mayor Kenneth Wilber, currently serving his third term, is the 25th mayor to serve the City of Portland, Tennessee since the city’s incorporation in 1905.
Mayor Wilber is a lifelong resident of Portland who graduated from Portland High School and Volunteer State Community College. He is married to the former Jackie Bunch, also from Portland, and they have three children and two grandchildren. He serves as an Elder at Portland Church of Christ.
Having completed the Elected Officials Academy and Certified Municipal Finance Officers certification sponsored by the TN Municipal Technical Advisory Service, (TML) the mayor has gained knowledge about local government’s proper function. He has familiarized himself with county, state and federal agencies by having served on various boards, such as TML, Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System, Greater Nashville Regional Council, Metropolitan Planning Organization, and Regional Transportation Authority.
Mayor Wilber proudly welcomes viewers of the website to visit Portland soon to experience a southern, small-town atmosphere, beautiful rolling hills and rural scenery, four distinct seasons, and about 12,000 friendly folks.
